Snoring Prevention Devices
Oral Appliances For Snoring and Sleep Apnea
Silent Nite®
Snoring Defined When the jaw opens and the tongue falls
into the back of the throat, the airway narrows forcing air through the
small opening. This creates vibrations in the throat known as snoring.
How does the Silent Nite® Prevent Snoring? Snoring
research has shown that custom fabricated dental devices worn at night that
move the lower jaw into a forward position, increase the three dimensional
space in the airway tube which reduces air velocity and soft tissue
vibration. By increasing the volumetric capacity of the airway and
preventing soft tissue vibrations, snoring is eliminated. The Silent Nite
device positions the lower jaw into a forward position by means of special
connectors that are attached to transparent flexible upper & lower trays.
The trays are thermoformed using heat and pressure to a model of your mouth
which provides a comfortable fit.
Breathing is Easier with a Silent Nite Silent Nite
devices do not interfere with breathing through the mouth. Even in cases of
congested nasal passages the device prevents snoring and allows uninhibited
oral breathing. Small forward movements of the lower jaw are possible while
wearing a Silent Nite device. This movement potential helps minimize
stiffness in the joints of the jaw in the morning. Silent Nite devices help
promote deeper, more restful sleep by preventing snoring.

Thorton Adjustable Positioner®
TAP
Sleep Apnea Defined Obstructive Sleep Apnea occurs when
the airway completely collapses blocking airflow into the lungs. The harder
one tries to breathe, the tighter the airway seals. This airway obstruction
persists until the brain partially awakens the person. Unconsciously, he/she
will close the jaw returning the tongue and throat to a normal position. The Sleep Apnea cycle - falling asleep, jaw relaxing, airway collapsing,
unconsciously awakening with a gasp, falling back asleep - can repeat itself
50 or more times per hour during the night. With a blocked air passage, one
does not receive enough oxygen. Both the awakenings and oxygen deprivation
can then trigger other health problems.
The Unique Approach of TAP® TThe TAP (Thornton
Adjustable Positioner) is based on the same principle as that of
cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The airway must be opened to allow air
to pass through the throat. A constricted or collapsed airway causes snoring
or Sleep Apnea. The TAP holds the lower jaw in a forward position so that it
does not fall open during the night and cause the airway to collapse. The
TAP maintains a clear airway to reduce snoring and improve breathing.
TAP® is comfortable and custom-made to prevent any change in teeth
position or mouth structure. They are patient-adjustable, allowing for
maximum comfort and effectiveness.

Myerson™ EMA®
Elastic Mandibular Advancement Appliance
The EMA (Elastic Mandibular Advancement) is a custom-made removable
intra-oral appliance created for noninvasive treatment of snoring and
obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). The appliance is designed to both advance the
lower jaw (mandible) and open the bite to allow for less restricted airflow
during sleep. EMA appliances help promote a deeper, more restful sleep by preventing
snoring and relieving the symptoms of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). The EMA
does not interfere with breathing through the mouth, even in cases of
congested nasal passages. The EMA has many options for patient advancement
with 5 strap lengths and 4 different elastic tension options. Non-restricted
side-to-side (lateral) or front-to-back (protrusive) movements of the jaw
are possible while wearing the appliance due to varying elastic bands.

The aveoTSD is a simple, low-cost treatment for Sleep Disordered
Breathing. The only snoring and sleep apnea device indicated for
edentulous patients, the aveoTSD has proven effective in clinical
trials for mild to moderate Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
Traditional mandibular advancement devices indirectly move the
tongue forward by moving the mandible. But the aveoTSD directly
suctions onto the tongue, preventing it from falling back into the
throat and increasing airway volume.
Made of medical-grade Dupont silicone, the aveoTSD is available
in three sizes: small, medium and large. Prescription of this device
requires no impressions, no remakes and no adjustments, and it can
be delivered the day you decide to accept snoring treatment.
