Dr. Dorfman received his dental degree at The University of Pittsburgh where he graduated Summa CumLaude.  He also received a medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.

He completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.  Dr. Dorfman served as chief resident at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Walter Reed Army Medical Center and East Orange VA Hospital.  He also completed an internship in General Surgery at University Hospital in Newark, NJ.  His time at Walter Reed Army Hospital was spent repairing and reconstructing some of the all too numerous soldiers severely wounded in Operation Iraqi Freedom. 

Dr. Dorfman has extensive experience in Snoring and Sleep Apnea Treatment, dentoalveolar surgery, office based anesthesia, dental implants and related bone grafting, facial cosmetic surgery, facial trauma, facial reconstruction, oral and maxillofacial pathology, Cleft Lip and Palate Repair, and Trigeminal Nerve Microsurgical Repair.  He has special interests in Snoring Treatment, Dental Implants, Bone Grafting, Out-patient anesthesia,  and Trigeminal Nerve Microsurgical Repair.

Dr. Dorfman has published articles and book chapters in the professional literature on topics ranging from Oral Pathology Research, Microbiology, and Orthognathic Surgery.  He has also lectured on local, national, and international levels on Dental Implantology, Facial Cosmetic Surgery,  Microbiology and Orthognathic Surgery.

Dr. Dorfman has organized and participated in numerous international outreaches, including his  outreach to Guayaquil, Ecuador for the treatment of children with cleft lips and palates with Healing the Children.
